Before the Story Begin or usually we called
BTSB, in our first single
Perfect Enemy we've lost our drummer because he had many things to do outside of
BTSB project. There for we design to draw midi drum using plugin from Addictive Drum Metal Series with relyon Drumagog5 plugin of replacing so we are helped analog taouching for drum snare, for sample sound of snare drum it self was taken from
Rockstar Studio using Tama Starclassic Series with added by membran from evans (i forget the series) and using dumper i made from lakban. for the capturing sound i using Heil PR20 microphone at up snare or top snare and Shure SM57 at bottom snare, sample was taken using DAW Pro Tools 8 HD and also Replacing Drawing using DAW Nuendo4.
After drum process done, we try to the next step is recording bass session at
Rockstar Studio, on this bass record Bassist from
BTSB (Doyok) Using Ibanez 5String with supported pickup and than route to Boss EQ with mode setting as he want.
Here we want to get a high sound and little sharp but with a low packing rock, while to get her warm tube character, i used SPL Gold Mike Mark2 preamp made by Germany, and amp head transistor of GK. At this time bass recording i only use one input, because it has a raw sound is desired. Then technically the session recording bass in the intro to the last chorus, bassist chose a pick with size 1.5 mm to get high is firm and the ending song session bassist chosen to use 0.5 mm pick to get a low which is more loose. process itself is less than 1 hour. after i finished recording bass i make bass track into 2 tracks with the aim of 1track original raw sound, and the other a slightly distorted of guitar rig effects of RTAS, to compose his or he taste.
We continue with the recording session guitar who has been our plan to create a guitar track list for faster and certainly didn't take long for the process, recording process itself we do in Pengerat Studio. the tools we use have an Ibanez RG Custom Guitar1 (Ilham) that uses strings from Ernie Ball sized 012, Fender Telecaster Custom Guitar2 (Deni) that uses strings from Ernie Ball sized 011, M80 Fender Amp Head, Marshall 4x12 Cabinet, Electrovoice RE20 Mic, Shure SM57 Mic, and Heil PR20 Mic. Pengerat Studio itself uses as PRESONUS interface with the character PRESONUS wet, unlike Rockstar Studio using Lynx Aurora 16 and HD Card from Avid Pro Tools with an assertive character and soft mid. All the guitar input on the hold-up man using a microphone that has been mentioned, and the total amount of there 36Track guitar track that was recorded using a DAW Nuendo 4.3. Engineer myself (I am) trying to maximize the sound character of Windows 7 as an OS that is used Pengerat Studio with a glossy transparent character and the character Nuendo rough and Fender amp head with the character of the transistor M80 is more open bright and fast attack. Different recording sessions snare drum and bass samples in Rockstar Studio that uses OSX 10.5 Snow Leopard is characterized by a strong lowmid DAW Pro Tools and more mid character. Followed several days later vocal take on Rockstar Studio, based on the desire to have a dynamic vocal sound I chose Senheiser MD421 mic Shure SM57 and who have the ability SPL (Sound Pressure Level) high which means it will stand the scream metal vocal range that maintains the tone, i chose to start his Chandler Limited TG2 as preamp to get a rough character on vocals, but it was rough but the results are less thick at mid-low frequency, so i replaced the preamp API3124 that tastes as expected, the process itself takes 2 hours, using a clean-up take vocal mic with a Neumann U87 SPL Gold Mike Mark II preamp (do not forget the heated first, because the preamp tube) which makes the vocal sound Gevin with thin characters feel warmer, more warm! yeah.. much for sharing you guys first, next shared follow my twitter : @denisaputra28
